Weekend Bicycling

We did not do near as much bicycling as we intended on this long weekend. We started the weekend Friday with a short mountain bike ride at the Wildcat trails in Spooner. Then on Saturday morning we took the Tosa tandem for a ride from the cabin Saturday, but we only did 17 miles. We were shooting for more but had some mechanical issues...have that taken care of I hope. On Sunday we headed over to Hayward, stopped in at New Moon Ski and Bike Shop and can say I was impressed with the service there. It was Chris Young we talked with while we were there...very helpful and knowledgeable. We will go back, for sure. After the bike shop, it was on to the Hatchery Creek mountain bike trails for Janice and I. We wanted to get a long ride in this weekend, but it just didn't work out. Hopefully we get some in the next week or so.

  1. New Moon is an awesome shop (for ski stuff too!)...and the Hatchery trails *sigh* we only get over to that area a couple times a year.

  2. I just get a warm feeling thinking about the mountain biking and cross country skiing in that area, Each trip requires a stop at New Moon and its sporting goodness.

  3. We have purchased some stuff from them, but not a lot. I really do not remember or know why we haven't, as they are the closest shop to us. It may be because I was foolishly hung up one brand. The three most recent visits have been impressive. They take the time to talk to you, which is more than I can say about shop we have been dealing with.

From what I have witnessed, the New Moon also supports the excellent local sporting scene. The road riding is nice in that area along with...of course, the CAMBA trails.
